RED BANK, NJ – The traffic lines have been painted, the signals are on, grass seed is being planted and the $10.89 million contract awarded to Earle Asphalt by the NJ Turnpike Authority in July 2018 for the reconfiguration at Garden State Parkway 109 interchange is about completed.

A digital road sign said that the traffic signals will be operating “on or about,” May 4th.

"Most likely Monday," that we'll see the opening, said Tom Feeney, Turnpike Authority spokesman.

Located at the confluence of Route 520 (Newman Springs Road) and Half Mile Road, the project abates the chaos and confusion that commuters faced on a daily basis.

Improvements include eliminating the existing eastbound jug handle at Half Mile Road and constructing an eastbound entrance loop ramp and bridge over Newman Springs Road to the northbound Parkway.
