Manchester City midfielder Yangel Herrera has secured a permanent exit from the Blues as he has joined sister club Girona on a permanent deal.
Herrera, 25, signed for City in 2017 for around £1m from Atletico Venezuela, before immediately joining City Football Group sister club New York City on an 18-month loan. A six-month loan at Huesca followed, before a year at Granada, a year at Espanyol and a year at Girona last season.
Now, Herrera has left City permanently, rejoining Girona on a deal until 2027. While any fee is undisclosed, it would provide more funds for City in the transfer market on top of the sale of Shea Charles for an initial £10.5m to Southampton, and the expected £15m departure of James Trafford to Burnley.
City could also earn millions if any of their senior players depart as a number are linked with exits this summer.

Girona have also completed the loan signing of right-back Yan Couto, who remains in Catalonia for a second-straight season.
Couto, 21, still has two years on his City contract and has moved to Girona for a third loan. He signed for City from Coritiba in 2020, joining Girona in his first year, before a productive season at Braga. Last term, he returned to Girona, and will now stay at City's sister club for another season.
Couto had been training at the City Football Academy in recent weeks before the loan move was confirmed and had been part of City's 2021 training squad for pre-season when most of the first team were still unavailable after competing at Euro 2020.
Girona made it a triple CFG signing by bringing winger Savinho to the club on loan from ESTAC Troyes, having played at PSV Eindhoven last season.
