Update, 8:20 p.m.: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating a shooting that happened on I-24 eastbound at mile marker 19, according to Clarksville Now news partner WKRN, Channel 2-Nashville.
Traffic is backed up past Exit 8.
Update, 7:50 p.m.: Drivers are being directed off I-24 at Exit 11 and back on at Exit 19, according to THP.
“This will be a long closure due to an ongoing law enforcement investigation,” according to THP.
Eastbound traffic has now backed up from Exit 11 almost to Exit 8.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 eastbound has been shut down at Exit 11.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Clarksville Police are shutting down the interstate at Exit 11 at the request of Robertson County and Tennessee Highway Patrol, according to MCSO spokesman Sgt. Bishop Delaney.

This involves an incident that occurred outside Montgomery County. “Law enforcement in our county is only assisting with traffic control on I-24,” Delaney said.
Traffic is being diverted down Highway 76 to Highway 41A.
At 7:45 p.m., traffic was backed up from Exit 11 to about mile marker 9, and from Exit 19 to about mile marker 15.
