After playing Det. Jay Halstead since the series 2014 Pilot, Jesse Lee Soffer has officially exited Chicago P.DThe heartbreaking moment came with Season 10, Episode 3's "A Good Man," which saw Halstead return to the army to hunt down drug cartels in Bolivia.

Fans are understandably emotional about the long-time cast member's exit—and so is his One Chicago family. A handful of co-stars took to social media to recognize Soffer.

"To make a long story short, it will never be the same..," LaRoyce Hawkins, who plays Officer Kevin Atwater, captioned an Instagram post featuring a series of photos of Soffer.

"Jesse, I love you, dude," tweeted Marina Squerciati, aka Officer Kim Burgess. "I cried a lot IRL so you know it's not fake social media stuff. SO MANY TEARS. #crybabyandproudofit #ChicagoPD."

New cast member Benjamin Levy Aguilar (Dante Torres) also wrote a heartfelt Instagram caption. "Don’t really know where to start.. Art does imitate life I guess. When I first came in in the show, you embraced me off screen just like your character did on screen," he said. "Thank you for being so giving and encouraging a space for creativity for me... I respect your story and your journey. Grateful to call you a friend. Im gonna miss you bro ♥️."

Chicago Med's Nick Gehlfuss, who plays Soffer's on-screen brother, Dr. Will Halstead, even shared a special video message for the actor.

"Do you remember when you welcomed me into this whole franchise?" he said. "I will never forget that you were so kind, patient, and really helpful. It was daunting at the time to me and you made it a lot easier. And then from then on we've developed this wonderful relationship that we have beyond all this, but I'm really gonna miss you man and you're never gonna be a better golfer than me."

So what will Chicago P.D. look like without Halstead? Amy Morton (Trudy Platt) gave NBC Insider a little insight.

"It’s quite a shakeup," she said. "Particularly since Jesse has been there since the very beginning, and this is our tenth season. So it’s a very big shakeup. Our newest member, Benjamin Aguilar, is a fabulous actor and a newbie in on the team, and a newbie officer. He's pulled straight out of the academy. And that dynamic I think is going to be really interesting because he’s very, very different than anybody else on the team."

Watch Chicago P.D. on NBC Wednesdays at 10/9c and next day on Peacock.
