IDOT: “Incident” on I-90 westbound at Rote Road, traffic must exit at State Street - WIFR

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - A part of I-90/39 in Rockford is closed at this hour due to what the Illinois Department of Transportation is calling an “incident.”

Milemarker 14.3 at Rote Road is closed with all lanes blocked. Anyone traveling on I-90 westbound must exit at State Street and find an alternate route to get back on the expressway.

There have been reports that this was a shooting. Nothing has been confirmed at this point but 23 News has a crew on the way to the scene.
