DAYTON, OHIO - Duquesne (8-6-2, 3-3-2) tied its series scoring high with three goals, but came up one shy in a 4-3 overtime defeat at Dayton (6-8-3, 3-4-1) on Saturday night at Baujan Field.

Michael Adedokun's goal in the 95th minute was the difference for Dayton.

Maxi Hopfer (7'), Zach Mowka (16') and Nate Dragisich (77') scored for the Dukes, with Dragisich assisting on Mowka's goal and Hopfer getting the helper on Dragisich's goal.

The match started briskly with three goals in the first 18 minutes.

Hopfer, the A-10's leading goal producer, knocked in his own rebound in the 7th minute to make it 1-0. The goal was Hopfer's 11th of the season.

Zach Mowka made it 2-0 when he scored off a pass from Dragisich.

Dayton cut the lead in half with a goal in the 18th minute.

The Flyers took a 3-2 lead in the 68th minute before Dragisich tied it.

This was just the third time in 24 games with Dayton that DU scored three goals (first since 2003).

Domenic Nascimben tied his career high with nine saves for the Dukes.

A-10 Championship seeds will be announced by the conference at the conclusion of play on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Duquesne had an excellent chance early when a Zach Mowka cross just missed connecting with Maxi Hopfer in the fourth minute.
  • Hopfer potted his own rebound in the 7th minute to give the Dukes a 1-0 lead. The sequence was initiated by a pass from Nate Dragisich. The goal was the 11th for Hopfer, tying him with Joshua Patterson for fourth-most in a season by a DU player.
  • Dragisich then slotted a pass to Mowka who netted his fourth goal of the season to make it 2-0 in the 16th minute.
  • UD cut the lead in half when Andy Sanchez scored after a corner in the 18th minute.
  • Jack Emanuel took a nice pass from Kendall Newman and missed just right in the 27th minute.
  • Ryan Goodhew let it fly from 30 yards out, forcing UD's Marc Kouadio to make a diving save just before the half.
  • Dayton had one more shot (7-6) and Duquesne had one more shot on goal (5-4) in the opening 45 minutes.
  • Nascimben made a terrific diving save, but the ball rolled to the foot of Jake Feiner who put it by the prone DU keeper in the 53rd minute.
  • Dayton's Forster Ajago couldn't quite get around on a shot that sailed right of the DU net in the 63rd minute.
  • Nascimben made his seventh save on a well-hit shot from Geni Kanyane two minutes later.
  • UD took the lead after a ball pinballed off a couple of Duquesne players before Ajago got a foot on the ball which glanced off a Duke and into the net in the 68th minute.
  • DU responded with three shots in a nine second span - the last of which was left of the net off the foot of Logan Muck - but came up empty in the 70th minute.
  • DU continued to pressure and Dragisich knocked one off the inside of the right post to tie it in the 77th minute.
  • Nascimben made a fine diving save to rob Ajago in the 85th minute.
  • Michael Adedokun ended it on a header in the 95th minute.
