CLEVELAND, Ohio — It was a long slog to an ending no one wanted to see.
In a game that lasted nearly five hours, the Indians let a 9-8 lead get away from them in the top of the ninth, then could do nothing in the bottom of the inning, losing to the New York Yankees, 10-9, and the best-of-three wild-card series, 2-0.
Cleveland.com Indians beat writer Paul Hoynes notes the Indians have lost 10 straight postseason games and their last nine elimination games.
And in the early-morning hours Thursday, Indians fans took to Twitter to let out their emotions about the ill-fortune of yet another season-ending loss. Some were bitter ... others more contemplative.
