Between a relentless pandemic and a new war in Europe, we’re all stretched to capacity in our ability to care about more disasters. However, this month marks the seventh anniversary of a war in Yemen that is the worst humanitarian crisis the world faces, with the deaths of several hundred thousand Yemenis — many of them children.
Despite both chambers of Congress having passed a Yemen War Powers Resolution in 2019 that would have ended U.S. complicity in this conflict, it was vetoed by Trump. However, a new resolution is being drafted. Please call and write your representatives to support the Yemen War Powers Resolution that would require Congress to adjudicate whether your tax dollars should support this devastation. We are still providing intelligence and back-channel support that is enabling this humanitarian crisis to rage on. If you can care about one more thing, please support a new Yemen War Powers Resolution.
