ST. GEORGE — A pickup truck pulling an enclosed 20-foot enclosed RV trailer lost control and flipped on Interstate 15 in the northbound lanes when the trailer started fishtailing.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Matt Noyes said the driver of the white pickup said that for some unknown reason, the trailer started to fishtail and overturned causing the pickup to roll over.
Noyes said the trailer is one of the types that is used for hauling ATVs.
The driver had only minor injuries and did not seek medical attention.
The single-vehicle traffic incident occurred near milepost 19, in between the Hurricane and Leeds exits.
The pickup and trailer rolled through the shoulder and off the southeast side of the freeway.
Noyes said the trailer shattered and parts littered the shoulder and side of Interstate 15.
Noyes said that units are still on the scene as there is a lot of “litter and clean up.” However, he said traffic is able to travel through the scene of the incident.
“It is quite a mess to clean up, so there will be units and proper authorities on the scene for a while,” Noyes said.
No citation have been issued pending further investigation. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the incident response.
This report is based on statements from law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings.
