ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – UPDATE 4:51 P.M.:
Skeletal remains were discovered near an exit ramp off of US-220 North in Roanoke, according to police.
Police said the northbound Franklin Road exit ramp off of US-220 will remain closed due to the forensics investigation.
The RPD Forensics Investigations Unit is on the scene with staff from the Medical Examiner’s Office, according to authorities.

A northbound exit ramp off of US-220 in Roanoke County has been closed due to “security/police activity,” according to VDOT.
Authorities said the incident is near Franklin Road.
