WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — Drivers should expect delays after a semi-truck almost fell from its ramp while exiting the Florida Turnpike on Saturday.
According to Florida 511, the incident occurred at the Beeline Highway northbound exit at around 8:15 a.m. local time. Initial arriving units found a scrap metal hauling tractor-trailer over the edge of the bridge, with the cab suspended in the air.
Photos taken at the scene show the cab of the semi-truck hanging precariously off the edge of the ramp. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) said the driver is OK and was awake and aware when talking to first responders.

PBCFR Special Operations units, along with a PBCFR Ladder Truck and large wreckers worked to secure the vehicle. They were able to safely bring the patient to the ground by 9:06 a.m.
PBCFR said the driver was able to walk from the bucket of the ladder truck to a waiting stretcher under their own power. The driver was brought to a trauma center due to the severity of the crash.
Fire rescue said weather may have played a role in this incident, as it was raining at the time of the crash.
FDOT cameras show the traffic on the highway. PBCFR said drivers should consider exiting the Turnpike at the Okeechobee exit if they are headed northbound.
