Premier League leaders Arsenal want at least £25million for Scotland international Kieran Tierney – according to a report.
The 25-year-old has played second fiddle to Oleksandr Zinchecko this season and it's understood Newcastle are keen on making a summer move for the left-back. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta batted away a question about the former Celtic man's future on Tuesday and stated he wants his fringe men to earn game time in the coming matches – starting with a crunch clash against Everton.
However, The Telegraph state Tierney could be used to fund a summer spending spree for four key positions on the Spaniard's wishlist. It's reported two new central midfielders plus a winger are wanted and a new left-back could be on the wishlist if Tierney joins Newcastle or another suitor. Albert Sambi Lokonga and fellow left-back Nuno Tavares are other names who could move on. And Arsenal are hell-bent on recouping their money on Tierney who remains under contract until 2026.
Tierney is highly regarded in North London and only injury setbacks have put a dampener on his time with Arsenal. The Gunners star remains an integral part of the current squad and will likely start in the Europa League, however, regular game time in the coming seasons will be high on his agenda.
Arteta, when asked what comes next for the defender, said: "I don’t know, I’m not thinking about it. I’m thinking about what’s best for the team and obviously and the players with the right to play minutes which they all deserve and we’re going to try to do that in the next couple of games."
