Update, 8:22 p.m.: The four suspects were wanted in a shooting in Nashville, Brooke Reese with MNPD told Clarksville Now news partner WKRN-Channel 2.
“Our detectives were attempting to stop four shooting suspects in a vehicle when the car fled,” Reese said. “We did not initiate a pursuit, however THP and MNPD aviation units followed the car into Clarksville on I-24.”
These suspects were not involved in this afternoon’s West Nashville homicide, Reese said.
Update, 8 p.m.: All four suspects were caught after a carjacking and wreck at Exit 8, according to Beaubien.
At about 6:38 p.m., Clarksville Police received information that a vehicle with four suspects was traveling on I-24 near Clarksville. It was being tracked Metro Nashville Police and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The vehicle, a red sedan, got off at Exit 8 and crashed into a utility pole. The suspects fled, then carjacked a black truck at Exit 8.
They were pursued by CPD and THP down several roads for about 10 minutes and eventually back to the Exit 8 area, where the truck ran off the roadway and wrecked.
No one was injured, Beaubien said.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Suspects wanted in an incident in Nashville who were sought by Metro Nashville Police were captured at the scene of a wreck on Interstate 24 in Clarksville tonight.
At around 7 p.m., the suspects were involved in a wreck near Exit 8.
