One person was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash on I-75 near exit 350 (Hernando/Dunnellon) on Sunday morning.
At around 5 a.m., Ocala Fire Rescue units (Engine 4 and Rescue 4) were dispatched to a single-vehicle collision. Prior to arriving at the accident site, the units were advised by dispatch that multiple vehicles were involved in the collision.
OFR’s Tower 1, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer were also requested on scene.
Upon arrival, OFR units found two semis and three passenger vehicles upright, and the vehicles were blocking all I-75 southbound lanes. One of the semis was jackknifed.
The units observed damages that ranged from major to minor, and no one was trapped inside any of the vehicles.
The driver of a red vehicle that was involved in the accident was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The Ocala Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, and Marion County Fire Rescue were also on scene.
The names of the individuals involved in the accident were not released.
