The California Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a person found on a freeway off-ramp early Wednesday morning.
Details regarding what may have happened were not available immediately, and the agency’s Oakland unit was leading the investigation. The CHP responded to the Regatta Boulevard exit off westbound Interstate 580 at 7:27 a.m.
The CHP closed the Regatta Boulevard exit and did not have an estimate for when it would be open. They issued a Sig Alert for severe traffic just after 7:45 a.m.
