JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A person was shot in the leg during a carjacking in the city’s Ribault neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police found the victim on Seine Drive around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, and the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department transported that person to an area hospital for treatment.
Detectives said they believe the victim was sitting in his car with a passenger when the two were approached by a person holding a gun and wearing a ski mask. The Sheriff’s Office said that person demanded the victim’s money and car. The robber then shot the victim in the leg before driving away with his car, according to JSO.
Detectives continue to investigate.
