Up Next BHN Daily: Fiery Jordan Binnington Exit Is A Must See - Boston Hockey Now

panggilansaja.blogspot.com

The goaltending exits from NHL games don’t get much better than St. Louis Blues netminder Jordan Binnington leaving last night’s game against the San Jose Sharks with a little fire and brimstone.

Binnington was pulled from an eventual 7-6 loss to the Sharks and took a nutty, first challenging the Blues bench, then getting Erik Karlsson to flinch as he faked like he was going to throw a shot and then nearly getting into a goalie brawl with Devan Dubnyk that really should have happened.

Instead, it turned into a hilarious video for all to see, and Dubnyk was left giving some good chirps to Jordan Binnington postgame, per our buddy at San Jose Hockey Now Sheng Peng.

Honestly, though, Dubnyk should have taken the chance to throw down with Binnington if he was truly offended after watching the Blues goaltender punk a number of his teammates on the ice.

As an aside, how does Karlsson allow himself to be punked by a goalie without chasing after him and beating the bejesus out of him? I mean, it’s not going to happen because Karlsson is about as finesse as you get in the NHL. But he ends up looking the worst of anybody in this entire video cowering from a goalie.

Maybe the two goaltenders can settle things at center ice the next time the two teams play, but honestly, it’s great to see the crazy things NHL players are doing these days to fire themselves up with no crowds in the stands. File this under that category.

Now on to the puck links:

*Look at this shot fake from the crafty Jason Spezza that’s still working for him all these years later.

*Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk is “doubtful” for Sunday’s matinee against the New York Rangers after practicing on Saturday. They could really use some good health on the back end right now. (Boston Hockey Now)

*Are the Boston Bruins still looking at Urho Vaakanainen as their big trade chip if they want to acquire an established top-4 defenseman? My partner-in-crime Jimmy Murphy says “yes” to that question. (Boston Hockey Now)

*The Minnesota Wild are a hot hockey team right now as NHL teams really get into the thick of the regular season now. (The Athletic)

*The Buffalo Sabres may stink on ice right now, but their Retro Reverse jerseys are pretty sweet-looking.

*Ron Hextall has dropped some knowledge as to the philosophy that will guide the Pittsburgh Penguins moving forward. It should be fascinating. (Pittsburgh Hockey Now)
