MILTON – The body of an unidentified adult woman was found Sunday morning along the eastbound exit ramp of the Mile Run interchange of Interstate 80 in rural western Union County.
The woman did not have any identification and was fully clothed, coroner Dominick Adamo said.
There were no visible signs of trauma but an autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of death, he said.
A Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) worker on duty because of the snow found the body, he said.
A state police news release states the incident occurred overnight but it does not give the time the body was found.
The death appears to have been recent, county District Attorney D. Peter Johnson said.
The exit ramp was reopened about 1 p.m. after being closed for around four hours due to the investigation.
