HOUSTON – Four people were wounded Tuesday during a shooting in Houston’s Acres Homes neighborhood.
The shooting was reported about 6:15 p.m. on West Little York at Knox Street.
Cmdr. James Bryant, of the Houston Police Department, said a group was gathered at a convenience store at the intersection when a vehicle traveling southbound on Knox Street stopped in the street. He said someone got out of the vehicle and fired more than 10 shots using an assault-rifle-style weapon.
Bryant said four men, between the ages of 18 and 36, were hit by the gunfire.
The four victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. Two of them were listed in critical condition and the other two were listed in stable condition, Bryant said.
Houston police said they believe a Chevrolet Impala may have been the type of vehicle used in the shooting.
Byant said there was a shooting at the same convenience store on Jan. 3, but he did not say if the two shootings were related.
