MILPITAS — NVZN Labs has agreed to lease office space in a renovated tech campus in Milpitas and will shift its offices from the East Bay, the project’s developer said Wednesday.

The tech company has leased about 14,000 square feet at 800 E. Tasman Drive in Milpitas, according to Orchard Partners, which has undertaken a wide-ranging renovation of Tasman Tech.

NVZN Labs is moving from its current location in San Leandro and is expected to be in its new Milpitas offices sometime during the April-through-June second quarter of this year. NVZN is a technology development and manufacturing company.

“Tenants have responded well to our recent program of campus-wide upgrades,” said Mike Biggar, a managing partner with Orchard Partners.

Ari Rokeach, a broker with commercial real estate firm Newmark represented NVZN in the transaction. Bob Steinbock and Sherman Chan of commercial real estate firm CBRE represented developer Orchard Partners.

Since June 2020, Tasman Tech has signed leases with three companies that have agreed to rent a combined 72,000 square feet, according to Orchard Partners.

SMART Modular Technologies had previously signed a lease to occupy 21,400 square feet at 1390 McCarthy Blvd. in the Tasman Tech complex.

A third tenant, whose name wasn’t disclosed because the company is in stealth mode, has leased 33,500 square feet in Tasman Tech.

Tasman Tech’s success is of note because developer Orchard Partners and the CBRE brokers who are marketing the site have been making headway despite the economic uncertainties unleashed by the coronavirus.

“Tenants appreciate the abundant open space and direct access to their premises,” Biggar said.
