BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The exit ramps at Exit 6 on I-190 in both directions are closed due to a level one hazmat situation near Sahlen Field in Buffalo, Wednesday afternoon.
Both Buffalo police and Buffalo fire crews say the closure is due to a chemical reaction at the ECC Flickenger Center.
BPD and BFD are on scene of a chemical reaction at the ECC Flickenger Center located on Oak Street. Motorist are advised to avoid the area as there are some roadway closures to assist first responders.

New York State Police say the northbound and southbound exit ramps at Exit 6 on I-190 will be closed for an unknown amount of time.
Troop T - RAMP CLOSURE: Erie County: I-190 at exit 6, both NB and SB exit ramps are closed for an unknown duration at the request of Buffalo PD, due to a hazardous material incident in the area of the Thruway.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
