Two more executives are leaving Envestnet.
The RIA tech company’s chief product officer, Brandon Rembe, and chief client success officer, Andina Anderson, are departing, a source familiar with the situation told Citywire.
An Envestnet spokesperson confirmed the exits, saying that Rembe (pictured, left) and Anderson (pictured, right) ‘have made the decision to leave Envestnet to pursue other opportunities and we wish them well in the next stages of their careers.’
Their exits come in the wake of Envestnet president’s Stuart DePina’s departure, which was formally revealed in June. Rembe and Anderson worked alongside DePina for years at Tamarac, a developer of portfolio rebalancing and performance reporting software which DePina led as chief executive. Envestnet bought Tamarac in 2012.
The Envestnet spokersperson added: ‘As part of aligning our business lines, product and customer experience are being embedded directly to those businesses they impact, to ensure the value proposition of our products directly tie to the needs of the business and the clients we serve.’
To this end, ‘Molly Weiss has been named Chief Product Officer, WealthTech and Solutions and will lead the continued growth and execution of Envestnet’s Client Portal. Furthering our commitment to WealthTech, Tony Leal, who was named Group President, WealthTech last week, will oversee customer experience for our Tamarac and WealthTech clients,’ the spokesperson said.
Rembe joined Tamarac in 2003 and served as the firm’s chief technology officer, where he led product development. Anderson joined Tamarac in 2006 as a head of client support.
Other executives who have left Envestnet over the past year-plus include head of product and operations Lincoln Ross, senior vice president of corporate strategy Blake Wood and chief relationship officer Donna Peeples.
Reporting earlier in the year focused on Envestnet’s efforts to sell itself to a private equity firm and leave the public markets. Sources previously told Citywire that the list of suitors had been narrowed down to Advent International and Warburg Pincus.
However, the recent slide in markets has likely put the kibosh on that plan, according to reporting from Barron’s.
Envestnet is also reducing its physical footprint. Citywire previously reported that the company is relocating its headquarters from Chicago to the Philadelphia suburb of Berwyn, Pa. Financial Planning reported that Envestnet is closing its Seattle office, which had been Tamarac’s headquarters.
