Update, 6:45 p.m.: Interstate 24 and the Trenton Road bridge have both reopened.
Update, 4:20 p.m.: CPD has started a death investigation into the incident on Interstate 24 West and Trenton Road, Gill said in a news release.
The preliminary investigation has determined this is not a vehicle crash, and involves an intentional act, according to Gill, and CPD will be the investigating agency.
CPD’s Crime Scene Team will be responding to start processing the scene, and the road closures will continue for extended period.
Traffic on Interstate 24 in the westbound lanes appears to be backed up all the way to Exit 8.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Interstate 24 West and Trenton Road at Exit 1 are closed due to an active police investigation.
At 3:10 p.m. on Saturday, Clarksville Police closed Interstate-24 West at Exit 1, and the Trenton Road overpass bridge also at Exit 1, according to a news release from Lt. Charles Gill.
Both roads will be closed completely until further notice, and CPD has asked that the public find alternate routes and avoid the area as there will be major traffic congestion.
This is an active investigation that is isolated to this area, according to Gill, and no further information was immediately available.
