Four Washington, Ill. residents, including three teenagers, are dead after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 near Lincoln in Logan County.
The Illinois State Police said a 47-year-old Washington man lost control of his minivan in heavy rain just after 10 p.m. Wednesday. The van skidded across the median and into oncoming southbound traffic.
A semi-tractor trailer struck the minivan. The 47-year-old driver, two 16-year-old girls, and a 17-year-old boy riding in the minivan were pronounced dead at the scene. A 13-year-old girl in the van was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
All were Washington residents.
The driver of the semi, a 41-year-old man from Georgia, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The identities of the deceased haven't yet been released.
