Serrett wins mayor race in Mill Creek | News, Sports, Jobs - The Inter-Mountain

MILL CREEK — Multiple municipal elections took place Tuesday evening in several local counties, including the Mill Creek town election in Randolph County, in which voters chose a mayor from three candidates vying for the position.

Larry Serrett won the mayor’s seat with a total of 47 votes. Also garnering votes were Marcus Blankenship, who tallied 17 votes, and Bill Brock, who totaled three votes.

The five City Council candidates were each running unopposed. Tom Proudfoot had 60 votes, while Gary Coffman received 59 votes, Michael Parrack totaled 57 votes, Greg Teter tallied 48 votes, and Debbie Williams garnered 47 votes.

Carolyn Meade, running unopposed for city recorder, received 58 votes.

In Barbour County, Junior elected five City Council members out of six candidates.

The five winners were Jack Skidmore with 28 votes, Mike Riffle with 28 votes, Barbara Lyle with 27 votes, Dennis Collett with 27 votes and Bob Skidmore with 24 votes. Charlie Wilson garnered the lowest vote total, with 21 votes.

Gary Miller ran unopposed for mayor of Junior, receiving 26 votes.

In Tucker County, Davis also elected five City Council members out of six candidates.

John Felton received 54 votes, Jeannette Ware had 54 votes, Kevin Flanagan received 38 votes, Charlotte Wales tallied 38 votes and Ron Hollis garnered 38 votes.

Ben Herrick had the lowest vote total, with 35 votes.
