SAN ANTONIO — UTSA junior Faith Roberson and former Roadrunners Luca Chatham, Dana Mecke and Victor Perez will compete in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which will get underway on Friday, June 18, and run through Sunday, June 27, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Roberson will race in the first round of the women's 400-meter hurdles, which is set for 5:35 p.m. CT on Friday, June 25. The semifinals are slated for 8:19 p.m. on June 26 and the final will be held at 6:20 p.m. on June 27.

A native of Wall, Texas, Roberson won the 2021 Conference USA outdoor crown with a meet- and school-record time of 56.89 seconds in May. A two-time C-USA Track Athlete of the Week honoree, she advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA West Preliminary Round. She first broke the UTSA record with a time of 57.54 in finishing third at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in March before improving her own standard last month.

Chatham is slated to run in the first round of the men's 800 meters at 7:26 p.m. CT on Friday, June 18. The semifinal round will be held at 9:04 p.m. the following day and the final is set for 7:28 p.m. Sunday, June 20.

An honorable mention All-American in the 800m in 2019, Chatham still owns the school record with a time of 1:48.38 posted while finishing 11th at the West Preliminary to earn a spot in the NCAA Outdoor field, where he placed 18th with a 1:50.60. He was the 2019 C-USA Indoor mile champion and also logged a runner-up finish in the 800m at the C-USA Outdoor as a senior.

Mecke will run in the women's 800 meters, which gets underway with the first round at 9 p.m. CT on Thursday, June 24. The semifinals are slated for 5:02 p.m. Friday, June 25, and the final will be contested at 6:52 p.m. on Sunday, June 27.

A two-sport athlete at UTSA who also played volleyball, Mecke owns the school record in the 1,500m with a 4:24.33 clocking from 2012 and she is the program's No. 2 all-time performer in the 800m with a collegiate-best 2:07.44 posted in 2010. A Smithson Valley High School product, she won 10 conference crowns as a Roadrunner, including three straight indoor 800m titles in 2008-10 and a gold medal outdoors in 2010. She was named the 2010 Southland Conference Outdoor Athlete of the Year and the league's Indoor Outstanding Track Performer the year prior.

Perez is scheduled to compete in the qualifying round of the men's hammer throw at 2:05 p.m. CT on Friday, June 18, with the final set for 6:25 p.m. Sunday, June 20.

Perez set a pair of school records during his UTSA career. He set the standard in the hammer throw with a measurement of 62.87m (206-3) in winning the 2017 UTSA Invitational and the weight throw mark of 19.63m (64-5) in a gold-medal performance at the 2017 Armory Track Invitational. The San Antonio native collected three conference medals as a Roadrunner, including a silver in the weight throw at the 2016 C-USA Indoor meet.

NBC Sports will provide live coverage of the meet on NBC, NBC Sports Network, NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app.
