HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southeastern Louisiana fell to Southern Miss, 5-0, and New Orleans, 4-1, Tuesday in collegiate beach volleyball action at the Southern Miss Sand Courts.
 
Against the Golden Eagles (8-20), Mikayla Richard and Meagan Scuderi fell, 21-13, 21-17, in the top flight. Southeastern's No. 2 pair of Hannah Barosh and Michelle Mirarchi dropped their matchup by an identical, 21-13, 21-17, score.
 
Making their season debut, Ariana Hebert and Jolie Hidalgo were bested, 21-14, 21-14, in the third flight. The Beach Lions' No. 4 pair of Marisa Calvaruso and Eryn Wilks came up short, 21-14, 21-17.
 
Playing in the fifth flight for the first time this season, Linsey Sackett and Nylissa Snagg played the tightest matchup of the dual. The pair fell, 21-17, 21-19.
 
Against the Privateers (7-13), Richard and Scuderi fell, 21-18, 21-15, in the top flight. Barosh and Mirarchi came up short, 21-19, 22-20, in the dual's tightest matchup.
 
Southeastern (3-14) picked up a point in the third flight as the duo of Hidalgo and Wilks won their matchup, 21-16, 21-17. Calvaruso and Hebert fell, 21-10, 21-12, to UNO's No. 4 pair and the Beach Lions' No. 5 pair of Sackett and Snagg lost, 21-9, 21-16, in the fifth flight.
 
UP NEXT
With Wednesday's Hilton Garden Inn LionUp Beach Bash against New Orleans canceled because of inclement weather, Southeastern begins preparations for three Southland Conference opponents at this weekend's HBU Tournament at Third Coast Volleyball in Houston, Texas.
 
The Beach Lions will face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 9 a.m., host Houston Baptist at 11 a.m. and Stephen F. Austin at 4 p.m. Saturday to wrap up the regular season.

Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the Southeastern volleyball program are encouraged to join the Diggin' It Club. Lion volleyball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
