BILLINGS — A 54-year-old Billings man riding a motorcycle was killed Sunday around 5 p.m. after loosing control of his bike while driving westbound on the City Center loop near the King Avenue Interstate 90 exit in Billings, according to Billings Police Sgt. Harley Cagle.
Billings police have asked the public in a tweet to avoid the eastbound I-90 exit to Billings city center and King Avenue West for the next several hours while investigators work the scene.
The motorcyclist was trying to enter eastbound I-90 traffic while negotiating the sharp curve of the on-ramp exiting Laurel Road and lost control, Cagle said.
The motorcyclist went into oncoming westbound traffic that was exiting I-90 via the King Avenue West exit. The man had already lost control of the motorcycle when he was hit by eastbound black Subaru Outback on the eastbound exit ramp, Cagle said.

No concrete barriers separate the portion of road where the crash took place.
Following the crash, the motorcycle landed in the ditch separating South Frontage Road and the eastbound I-90 exit onto Mullowney Lane. Cagle said speed was possibly a factor in why the motorcyclist lost control, based on how far away the bike landed from the roadway
The Subaru was parked upright on the right side of the eastbound exit to Mullowney Lane, approximately 1,300 feet from the lane's end.
Responding agencies include, the Billings Police Department, Montana Highway Patrol, Yellowstone County Sheriffs deputies, Billings Fire Department, American Medical Response and Montana Department of Transportation.
