Eastern Kentucky will travel to Western Kentucky on Tuesday to play its final road game of the season.
 
First pitch from Nick Denes Field is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  WKU leads the series 49-37-3. 
 
-  The most recent meeting between the two schools took place in Richmond in March 2019.  Western won the back-and-forth contest 12-9.
 
-  The last time WKU hosted EKU was in March 2018, a game EKU won 7-5.  Colonel pitchers Will Brian and Darren Williams combined for two strike outs while limiting WKU hitters to two earned runs over six innings.  Brian picked up his first career road win.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU is 20-29 this season and 13-17 in Ohio Valley Conference play.  The Colonels will head to Bowling Green riding a four-game winning streak, including a three-game sweep over conference rival Belmont over the weekend.
 
-  Senior outfielder Caleb Upshaw is on a hot streak, batting .404 with nine extra-base hits, 10 runs and 15 RBIs in his last 15 games.  He boasts a 1.119 OPS over that stretch.
 
-  Freshman outfielder Max Williams has found a groove, hitting .326 with three runs, 10 RBIs and six extra-base hits in his most recent 14 games.
 
-  Sophomore infielder Charlie Ludwick is hitting .327 to go alongside 10 runs, 10 RBIs and six extra-base hits over his past 15 games.
 
-  The Eastern Kentucky pitching staff leads the OVC with 428 strike outs.
 
Will Brian recorded two saves on Saturday, increasing his season to total to 10, the most in the OVC.  Saturday marked the first time in Brian's career that he notched two saves in one day.
 
-  Senior relief pitcher Jacob Abbott struck out two batters in two appearances against Belmont over the weekend.  He leads the OVC with 29 appearances this season.
 
-  Left-handed freshman Bryce Travis will get the start for Eastern.  He is 2-2 this season with a 4.71 ERA.  He has made 25 appearances and two starts.  In his last start against Bellarmine, Travis pitched two and one-third innings without allowing a run and gave up just one hit.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Western Kentucky is is 25-27 overall and 15-17 in conference play.  The Hilltoppers couldn't hold an early 2-0 lead in a Conference-USA battle against No. 23 Old Dominion on Sunday, falling 13-2.  WKU has dropped five of their past six games.
 
-  The Hilltoppers defeated Old Dominion on Saturday afternoon, 7-6, their first victory over a ranked opponent since 2018.  Sophomore outfielder Jackson Gray hit 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs in the win.  Gray leads WKU with 57 hits this season, resulting in a .350 batting average, six home runs, and 27 RBIs.
 
-  Junior infielder/outfielder Justin Carlin picked up an RBI single Sunday afternoon against Old Dominion.  Carlin now has a .351 average with 24 runs and 29 RBIs in 39 games this season.
 
-  Redshirt sophomore relief pitcher Mason Vinyard has been lights out in his last nine appearances, striking out 16 batters while posting a 0.71 ERA in 12 and two-thirds innings.  Vinyard struck out two Monarchs on Saturday en route to his second save of the season.
 
-  Redshirt junior relief pitcher Bailey Sutton is 4-1 this season with a 2.70 ERA.  The right-hander has only allowed one earned run since March.
 
-  Right-hander Jake Kates will start on the mound for the Hilltoppers.  He is 3-4 this season, having made 13 appearances and 12 starts.  The redshirt sophomore has struck out 84 batters and walked only 20 in 72 and one-third innings.
