BYESVILLE — St. Clairsville and John Glenn have waged some battles on the track at Eugene Capers Field at Meadowbrook High School over the years.
Saturday afternoon was no different as the Division II Eastern District Championship wrapped up under hazy and hot conditions.
The battle — this time around — went the way of the Lil Muskies, who re-gained the lead by two points entering the 4×4 and then defeated the Red Devils in the final event to seal the deal and claim the title with 132 points, which was three more than the Red Devils.
St. Clairsville, however, advanced to next week’s regional meet at Chillicothe in 13 events.
Leading the way for the Red Devils were three district champions.

She finished third in the high hurdles to begin Saturday’s running finals in a time of 16.66.

Standout freshman Sabria Jones had another highly impressive showing. She won three individual titles and a fourth gold as part of a relay.
