The NFL draft rolls on, and Missouri Tigers football players keep coming off the board. This time it was with the 14th pick in the 6th round, or 198th overall, when the Los Angeles Chargers selected Tigers running back Larry Rountree III, or Larry Three-sticks.
Rountree came to Mizzou as an unheralded recruit out of North Carolina and quickly paved his way at Mizzou with his powerful running style and ball security. Rountree being selected means Missouri has a five man draft class so far, and that’s the most players selected since the 2009 draft when 6 were chosen (oddly enough it did NOT feature Chase Daniel being chosen, despite still being in the league — wild).
Chase Daniel and Larry Rountree III will be teammates with the Chargers.

Rountree was in first grade when Daniel rallied Mizzou to beat Iowa State in 2005.
Larry Rountree (@LRountreeIII) had the second most rushes this past year in the 2021 draft class (behind Najee Harris). His ability to stay healthy and remain productive will allow him to contend for a starting job in the NFL
