
WARREN, Ind. (WPTA21) – Police say they are working a fatal crash on I-69 near the Warren exit.
Indiana State Police say the crash happened on I-69 near the 272 mile marker.
Officers say they believe the driver of a semi fell asleep and struck the concrete support beams of a bridge near the Warren exit.
A female passenger of the semi was ejected. She was flown to the hospital with life-threatening injuries
Police believe the semi was headed northbound when it hit the bridge and ended up in the southbound lanes.
The interstate will be shut down for at least a couple of hours in the southbound lanes.
Motorists are urged use extreme caution in this area, and to avoid the area if possible.
