A driver was found dead Wednesday evening in a car that had caught fire on Interstate 295 north in Mercer County, New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. Lawrence Peele said.
Troopers were called to the exit 60 ramp on the highway at 7:55 p.m. in Hamilton and found the car on fire and a driver inside who was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries he sustained in the blaze, Peele said.
No other vehicles were involved, he said.
The cause of the fire and the man’s identity were not released Wednesday night.
The exit ramp was closed as of 10 p.m. as the fire remained under investigation, Peele said.
